Spinning Dancer conundrum

Forget the left and right brain rubbish -- all I want to know is how to make
the dancer
appear to spin anti-clockwise. I've tried all advice including focusing on the bottom foot, half-closing my eyes, looking at it out of my peripheral vision, etc. No luck -- she continues stubbornly to spin clockwise. What's wrong with me?

Nothing wrong with you. That dancer clearly only spins clockwise :).

(found you via purl-handled-revolver!)

Yay, an actual comment! My first! You get a special gold-plated spinning dancer, a purl-handled revolver and a bunch of daisies :-)

I can recommend the following world-view-hack:

Don't look at the picture, look to the leftof the picture so you only see her out of the corner of your eye. Look far far to the left so that you can barely see her flashing around at the edge of your vision. Then IMAGINE her spinning anticlockwise. A nice hint is imagining her outstretched hand moving from left to right in front of her. Do it until the picture in the corner of your eye seems to have one of those left to right hands, then look at the picture.

I hope this works for you!

It works because she is just a silhouette, an therefore could be doing either clockwise or anticlockwise turns. If this logic thing helps.

Good luck!
