The electricity just cut out while I was in mid-sentence, which I assumed was my first daily share of the load-shedding burden. I cursed Eskom, the government and the Council's inability to stick to its own schedule and went to turn off the mains against power surges -- only to discover that I had, in fact, forgotten to check the meter and we'd simply run out of units. Oops. Thank goodness for SMS electricity purchases.
